A Dreamy One-Year Anniversary Session at Swan Lake | Berry College, GA

There’s something extra special about capturing couples a year into marriage. The nerves of the wedding day have faded, life has settled into a new rhythm, and you can feel the ease and joy between them — that deep “we’ve walked through a year together” kind of love.

I had the absolute joy of photographing this sweet one-year anniversary session at Swan Lake on Berry College’s campus in Georgia, and y’all… it was magic. Berry College is already known for its breathtaking scenery (it’s basically a real-life fairytale campus), but Swan Lake in the evening light? Unreal. Calm water, weeping trees, and the cutest little duck friends. Yes, it was giving Nicholas Sparks.

Once we took some photos of the two of them, we brought out the details from their wedding day… how FUN! Then we ended up taking of few just of the bride (because once a bride always a bright, right?!) and we were OBSESSED!

Even though I'm based in Texas, I absolutely love any excuse to hop over to Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, or Mississippi for weddings, proposals, anniversary sessions—you name it. There’s something so timeless and romantic about the South, and it feels like every corner has a story waiting to be told.

This session was full of soft laughs, slow dancing by the water, and a really sweet sense of "we did it" energy. The couple brought their wedding details—her bouquet, his tie, their vow books—and it was such a meaningful way to honor their day while celebrating how far they’ve come. I always tell my couples: your love story is still being written, and every chapter is worth documenting.
